Debunking the myths of online study.

Online study has evolved rapidly over the past decade. Yet outdated assumptions still shape how it is perceived.
At the University of Bristol, we speak with ambitious professionals every day who are considering postgraduate study but hesitate because of what they have heard about learning online.
Is it less rigorous? Is it isolating? Is it viewed differently by employers?
The short answer is no.
Here we address some of the most common myths about online study and explain what it really means to study online at a research intensive university.

Myth 1: Online degrees are easier
Flexibility is often mistaken for reduced academic challenge.

Myth 4: Online learning is passive
